The Zoning and Planning Committee (ZAP) seeks to work in conjunction with the neighborhood’s two aldermen to ensure that land use, planning, zoning, and other related topics are properly addressed and managed for the overall betterment of the neighborhood. Common requests that come to ZAP via the aldermen include interpretation and variances for zoning and land use, general information requests on property uses and permissions, permits for new buildings and businesses, and transportation-related improvements within the neighborhood.

The Zoning Committee plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Roscoe Village’s physical space. We review variances and permits to ensure new developments align with the neighborhood’s values and goals. Additionally, we focus on transportation-related improvements to keep our streets safe and accessible. Through thoughtful planning and strategic thinking, we work on creating a sustainable Neighborhood Development Strategy that reflects the needs and desires of Roscoe Village residents.
